The full name of ZDHC should be Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals.
ZDHC Alliance is a group of well-known foreign brands in the apparel and
footwear industry. Members of brands have jointly developed and published the
Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), which commits the apparel and
footwear industry to lead all emission pathways in the supply chain of all
products to zero emissions of hazardous chemicals. The ZDHC MRSL certificate of
conformity is currently widely recognized in the textile and leather industry
at home and abroad.
In November 2022, ZDHC officially released MRSL 3.0 and its supporting
document MRSL Compliance Guidelines 2.0, which attracted widespread attention
from textile, apparel and footwear industry stakeholders. In March of this
year, ZDHC updated MRSL to version 3.1, with major changes including the
addition of test notes for chlorophenols and the modification of limits and
instructions for leather substrate chemicals for o-phenylphenol OPP. ZDHC
officially set November 1, 2022 - November 1, 2023 as the transition year of
MRSL V2.0-V3.1, all certified products registered by MRSL V2.0 on the ZDHC official
website will be expired after November 1st, 2023. We can see from this timeline
that people's demands for environmental protection become higher and higher,
the ZDHC version will update faster and faster.
After the release of ZDHC MRSL V3.0, it takes time for third-party
certification bodies to upgrade their qualifications, TINGJIANG cooperate with
the international independent third-party testing, inspection and certification
body TUV Rheinland, China branch, succeed to be the first in the industry which
passed the MRSL V2.0 level 3 certification in Jan of this year. In October of this
year, audit experts from TUV conducted a 1-day upgrade audit for TINGJIANG’s
factory, including the data audit of MRSL V3.1 and the site inspection of factory.
While the experts affirmed our upgrading work of our factory, they also put
forward some improvement suggestions for the shortcomings. Finally, after the
comprehensive assessment of audit experts and the German Rhine headquarters, TINGJIANG
successfully passed the ZDHC MRSL V3.1 level 3 upgrade certification, and a
total of 54 products passed the first batch of certification. TINGJIANG will
continue to have more products to be inspected and get the certification.
